The Hippocampe is a new type of outdoor all terrain/beach chair on wheels It provides access to the Beach/Water sports and other outdoor arenas including winter activities.
Designed for use by all persons including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. A push bar kit allows assistance when required.

The low seat of the Hippocampe makes it simple to transfer oneself between the ground and the chair. At only 31 lbs (14 kg), it is light and floats in the water (as will each of its component parts). All its parts are sand and water resistant and its aluminium tubes are sleeved to stop them getting hot in the sun.
A major innovation is the double width wheels designed to make movement on sand easier. There′s no longer any need for massive arm muscles to move round the beach in complete freedom!

A little bit of History...
Hippocampe was first designed at Ploemeur in Brittany (France), by four friends with a keen interest in leisure activities and inventions, Patrice FAUCOGNEY, paraplegic, Mathieu RIETMAN, a prosthetics technician at a physiotherapy centre and two physiotherapists, Vincent LEROY and Thierry DEREGNIEAUX. The Hippocampe was the result of 4 years of research, testing and development.

Transport Bag:
Carry case : A bag for transporting the wheelchair when dismantled and for storing and protecting it. It is also ideal when you are travaling by air. It is counted as 14 kg of hand luggage so incurs no additional charges.
Armrests:
These armrest enable you to position your arms confortably and can also serve as mudguards. They fold up and swivel so they do not hinder transfer to your everyday wheelchair. .
Headrest
The headrest is covered in water-repellent foam and can be adjusted to several positions to adapt to the user′s size and position.
Harness
Comfortable, waterresistant elastic Lycra covered neoprene harness.

Small - for children or those less than 4' 7"
Medium -for teenagers and adults up to 5′ 9" it is the size used by most of the people, the associations, for a collective use
Large -for adults between 5′ 9" and 6' 3"
Xtra Large - for adults over 6' 3"
Can you use the wheelchair Hippocampe on your own?
If you can propel yourself, you can use the wheelchair on your own otherwise you can be pushed thanks to the push bar

The wheelchair Hippocampe floats in the water but it is not a boat. It is a wheelchair to enter the sea and once you’ve got water at your waist you get out of the Hippocampe and you have a swim, at that time the Hippocampe will float
